A1 Site, Mill St. Pond . The site is about 5 minutes from the Sleigh Maker Inn. Route 30 w, take Mill street to ramp on left. It is highly recommened to wear lifevest when kayaking or fishing here. Nice for birdwatching, be careful of the stumps and weeds. Time to kayak around the pond is apx 1 hour.
Chauncey Lake. This site is about 7 minutes from the Sleigh Maker Inn. Route 30 E, Left on Lyman St, cross Rte 9, down just a short distance. Boat Acces is off Chauncey. There is a public swimming beach for Westborough residents with lifeguards on duty till 5pm during the summer months. Great fishing too!
Hopkinton State Forest Reservoir , This site is about 15 minutes away from the Sleigh Maker Inn. Kayak rentals are available on site for a reasonable rate and they will also provide a little instruction if needed. Great place if you have never been kayaking and want to give it a try. Nice park with hiking trails, rest rooms and beach. Check website for hours.
Whitehall State Park Reservoir , Rte 135 East. This site is about 10 mintues from the Sleigh Maker Inn. It is one of our favorite places when we want to go out on the kayaks for and hour or two. Good parking and boat ramp. Lots of little islands to explore. Very popular with the fisherman.
Shrewsbury and Worcester
Lake Quinsigamond and Flint Pond in Shrewsbury & Worcester MA. This site is about 15 minutes away from the Sleigh Maker Inn. Main Boat Ramp is on North Lake Ave. You can also put in at the State boat ramp in Shrewsbury off of Rte 20. There is a public park with picnic tables and bathrooms. Many rowing competitions are held here. Weekends are busy with motor boats and jet skis so the water is active and lake is noisy. Weekdays are quieter.
